About Alison

Hello!! A little about me…. I live in The Hamlet of Greenwood with my lovely family and a handful of chickens! Our family started in East York where we had both of our children under fabulous midwife care. The complexity of my first successful pregnancy and postpartum combined with the fertility challenges that I faced, made me think about the support that is needed as a family expands. This, combined with the natural role that I have taken for friends in their pregnancies and postpartum put me on the path to bringing a long time dream of working in the birth world to an actual career.

I have always been drawn to the role of supporting new families. I left my hometown of Stratford and spent 10 years as a live in nanny with two long term families and then several years as an on call nanny. I became a Registered Early Childhood Educator and worked in City of Toronto childcare centres until I had my children.

I am passionate about helping you have a birth that you can reflect on with feelings of empowerment and confidence, knowing that you were supported with evidence based information. Likewise, I am committed to helping you plan for a postpartum period that will allow you and your family ease gently into your new roles.
